Centro’s Philosophy

Since 1972, Centro de Ninos has been providing child care services to the children and families in the East LA, Montebello and surrounding areas. Our program offers enriching and age appropriate curriculum to help children be prepared.

The philosophy of Centro de Niños is to serve the child care needs of the community and their families by offering a program that enriches and develops a child’s developmental growth and prepares them for their future.

The programs goal is to respond to the needs of every child as they develop awareness of the world and readiness for learning. Incorporating STEM based activities into their curriculum, each classroom provides developmentally appropriate materials and activities for the whole child in the areas of social/emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development, while fostering a positive self-concept.

Our program provides quality child care/child development services in a safe, welcoming atmosphere where children will be encouraged to learn and thrive through exploration. We want children to develop their unique talents, retain their life experiences that originate from their cultural background, as well as providing an atmosphere where children can create, pretend, explore, build, play, and learn about themselves and others. In addition, we are committed to assisting each child graduating from our program to master the skills to enter kindergarten and maintain a healthy self-confidence.

The program recognizes and honors the cultural differences of the world by emphasizing the similarities as well as valuing the uniqueness of the people.

This mission which has been planned with input from the staff, parents, board members and the community cannot be accomplished unless they are inclusive of all these parties from development to implementation.

Our program is conducted in English and Spanish with an emphasis on English.
